It all started when...
Welcome to Mamma Rosa Restaurant where you will taste the traditional cuisine and classic flavors of Italy, prepared with the finest and most exceptional ingredients available.
Vince and Dora Ursini, owners, grew up in Italy and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in the 1950's. In 1982 they moved, with their two daughters, to San Diego and opened Mamma Rosa Restaurant. Their vision was to create a fine dining experience in a casual, cozy and friendly family environment. They were inspired by their childhood memories where dinnertime was a family shared time - a tradition they have passed on to their daughters and their families.
Tucked away in El Cajon, Mamma Rosa Restaurant appeals to intimate gatherings of faithful locals, their families and visitors. Many have considered the restaurant a local gem and though small, they prefer the coziness and the comfortable neighborhood charm. Afterall, a short wait is always worth while and outweighed by the great food.
